Summer Tennis Camps

Smashing Tennis will be running Summer camps at Wycombe High School, on their 9 newly resurfaced hard courts. Running from 10-3 pm each day, or 10-12.30 pm half days. Early drop off available from 9 am. Camps are running on the following dates-

CAMP 1 (2 days): Monday 27th July, Tuesday 28th July.

CAMP 2 ( 2 days): Tuesday 4th August and Wednesday 5th August.

Camp 3 (2 days): Monday 1st September, Tuesday 2nd September.

Venue: Wycombe High School, Marlow Road, High Wycombe, HP11 1TB. The camp is aimed at beginner, intermediate and club levels and is not a performance tennis camp (County and above).

Timings: The full day camps run for 5 hours, with a lunch break and fun non tennis games in the break. The half day option is 2 1/2 hours of tennis in the morning. If your children are 3-4 years old, suggested would be the one hour morning PRE-SCHOOL session.

Age groups:

  • 3-4 year olds (Pre-School) - The coaching will ensure your children develop their Agility, Balance and Coordination skills (ABC'S), while having fun and learning basic racquet skills. Children will become familiar with holding and using the racquet, they will learn sending and receiving skills through games and using varied equipment including bean bags, juggle squares, balloon balls, hoops, catch nets and hitting tees. It is game based and having fun is key. Running a Shorter sessions due to age and with a ratio of 1 coach to 6 children.

  • 5-11 year olds- Again developing the ABC's and learning the basic shots of the game, as well as activities to promote hand eye coordination, tennis techniques, basic grips, and moving to some rally based games with opportunities for point play. We will use a mix of red, orange or yellow balls based on age and standard and stream groups accordingly.

  • 12-18 year olds year olds - The focus will be fun games and competitive play, pair work, basket drills and fun games. Great for hand eye co-ordination and overall ball skills and socially the camps will provide a fun day of tennis, as well as providing a good foundation to learning the basics of the game and set you up for Summer Term tennis. Come as a group with friends or on your own, guaranteed fun day.

The sessions are designed specially for the different age groups, around game-based activities. Guaranteed lots of fun and skills development with our wide range of equipment. Groups will be streamed throughout the course according to standard and for the more advanced players we will include point play.
