About Smithfield:
Smithfield formed in 2011, drawing on both the family history that connected Jennifer and Trey and the musical influences that set them apart. Blending country, pop, and rock, the duo created a sound rooted in lifelong friendship and shared chemistry. “We grew up in the same part of Texas, but we come from different sides of music,” Trey explains. “That mixture is what makes it unique.”

Rather than relying on a single lead singer or songwriter, Jennifer and Trey share both roles equally, crafting harmony-driven songs about love, loss, and life from both sides of a relationship. After moving to Nashville in 2012, they carried on the tradition of iconic male-female country duets while building a sound all their own. Songs like “Hey Whiskey” and “We’ll Figure It Out” helped earn Smithfield multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances, heavy satellite radio airplay, 150 million digital streams, and praise from Rolling Stone, Billboard, People Country, and Forbes. They’ve also opened for major acts including Brothers Osborne, Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown, Old Dominion, and more.
