Ecological breakdown, economic crises and war is now part of our daily reality. The system we live under is hurling us towards catastrophe.
Across the world the political centre ground has collapsed. Despite a ‘loveless landslide’ two years ago, Starmer becomes the fourth prime minster in 5 years to hand in his resignation. Andy Burnham’s bounce is only temporary. With a promise to both stick to Rachel Reeves fiscal rules and increase defence spending this can only mean that cuts are coming down the line.
With working class people already feeling the impact of the rise in the cost of living, we think there is a potential for a fight back.
Yet with trade union leaders unwilling to take the lead, it is our responsibility as revolutionaries to push forward the struggle. To do this we need a strategy that encompasses action over the cost of living and fighting back against the far right.
Come join the SWP national trade union meeting to take part in discussing this strategy and how we implement it in our trade union work.
