Everywhere we look there is crisis: the rise of the far right, war and imperialist aggression, genocide in Palestine, growing racism and Islamophobia, climate catastrophe and economic turmoil.
Marxism offers us an understanding of the dynamics of the capitalist system, and it can explain the era of catastrophes in which we live. But it is also a guide to action against the system, a vital tool for all those that are fighting back.
As Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin once said - "Without revolutionary theory, there can be no revolutionary movement". The Socialist Workers Party is organising a Midlands regional Dayschool for students and young workers, open to all.
The event, taking place in Birmingham City Centre, will be full of talks, plenaries, discussion, and debate on how we can smash capitalism.
Themes include:
- A World at War: Understanding Imperialism Today
- Socialism or Extinction: How can we stop climate breakdown?
- AI, Data Centres, Oil Crisis: Where is Capitalism headed?
- Gender, class and the fight for liberation
- Fighting racism and the far right today
