Bird Watching: A Guided Walk & A Brew

Join us for a morning of walking, bird spotting and chit chat at Burton Mere on Sunday, 12th April, from 10:00am.

What will the morning look like?

We'll start off with a guided 2.5hr walk around the beautiful Burton Mere Wetlands nature reserve, part of the Dee Estuary landscape managed by the RSPB. With one of the RSPS's expert local guides we'll explore this stunning mosaic of reedbeds, grasslands, woodland and wetland habitats — and hopefully see some birds!

We’ll take the time to:

• Discover the wildlife that thrives here.
• Enjoy varied viewpoints, hides and screens, offering great opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife spotting.
• Learn about the habitats and conservation work that helps support this remarkable reserve and its species.

This walk is suitable for anyone with an interest in nature — from beginners to more experienced wildlife watchers — and will take in some of the best parts of the reserve’s trails and viewpoints.

After our walk we'll grab a hot drink in the cafe and have a bit of a chat.

Who’s this event for?

This will be a really informal event for anyone who wants to meet new people while chatting all things people, planet and sustainably. Or anyone who simply fancies a bit of company on a Sunday morning. Feel free to bring friends and family along too!

What does the ticket include?

With thanks to previous sponsorship from SP Energy Networks and Burton Mere for doing us a lovely package deal, we're able to offer subsidised tickets at just £9, including the 2.5hr guided walk, binocular hire (8 pairs between the group) and a hot drink in the cafe after our walk.

What shall I wear/ bring?

Please dress appropriately for the weather on the day, have sturdy footwear and bring a water bottle. If you have your own binoculars bring those along too! Expect to walk up to 3 miles. Paths are wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly, please let us know if you have any accessibility needs.
