Exploring Social Pedagogy as a Framework for Connection, Creativity, and Care
At this SPPA gathering, we ask how social pedagogy can serve as a unifying practice framework across the lifespan - linking early childhood, residential childcare, education, community work, and support for adults through a shared commitment to human-centred, relational practice. In a context marked by social division and a loss of belonging, the conference invites practitioners to recognise, name, and refine the social pedagogic principles already embedded in their work, from the Common Third to creative, connective approaches such as theatre, outdoor learning, arts and crafts, and animal-supported practice.
Designed for those who want to practise in a certain way - whether or not they currently call it social pedagogy - the event will offer an experiential programme that enables participants to feel social pedagogy in action. By intentionally inviting diverse voices, including emerging themes such as social pedagogy for social entrepreneurship, we aim to cultivate a shared sense of belonging and strengthen the practice focus that sits at the heart of social pedagogy.
Join us for the two-day event and secure limited on-site accommodation.
