Winging It: A Bird Walk for the Mid-Figuring Out

Ever get the urge to be like a bird — to just fly away? Not sure where home is? Or where your soul's supposed to be? Or when exactly you're supposed to have this all figured out?

Same. The societal pressure to have it "all figured out" makes us want to fly away too. And here's the thing about figuring it out: it's a lot less lonely when you're not doing it alone.

So on October 10, join us for a Saturday morning bird walk through the Sepulveda Basin wildlife reserve. No goals, no expertise, no life plan required. Just a couple hours to meet people who are also mid-transition, mid-question, mid-something — and do something genuinely fun together instead of overthinking it solo.

This one's for you if:

• you're an in-betweener — mid-transition, mid-figure-out, mid-something
• you're looking for people, not just plans
• you're curious about birding, or just want a genuinely different way to spend a Saturday in LA

Taylor will lead the walk and point out whatever's flying by. Zero birding experience required. You're not here to become a birder. You're here to be outside, be around people, and let the birding be the thing that gives you something to do with your hands (and eyes) while you get to know each other.

What to expect: a guided nature walk near the amphitheater, followed by snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic).

Parking: plentiful and free near the amphitheater.

What to bring: sunscreen, a hat, bug spray, and closed-toe shoes. binoculars provided — bring your own if you've got a favorite pair, but no need to buy one.

Rain policy: if it rains, we'll reschedule and you'll get credit toward the new date. if the new date doesn't work for you either, you'll still get credit.
