Society Hall, at 400 Ross Avenue in Alamosa, is excited to welcome back the phenomenal western singer-songwriter and guitarist Carin Mari, in concert on Friday June 6th at 7:30 pm. Doors will open at 6:30. Tickets are $20.00 and are available at the link below, or in Alamosa at the Green Spot, or at the door. The concert will also stream live on the Society Hall Facebook page and You-Tube channel.

Acclaimed as one of Western Music's brightest rising stars, Carin Mari is a songwriter from the heart with a deep passion for her music. She finds inspiration from life at home in the mountains of Colorado where she was born and raised. Friend and mentor Michael Martin Murphey suggested Carin learn, "I Want to be a Cowboy's Sweetheart". Not a far stretch from her roots, this style of music fit her lifestyle perfectly since she was already an avid horseback rider with a love for the western way of life. After 16 years of continued dedication, her talents as a guitarist/singer/songwriter have won her numerous awards, including 2010 Texaco Country Showdown Southwest Regional Winner and Runner-up in the National Final – and she did it with her own original western music!

Carin has been touring nationwide for the past ten years, often with her band Pony Express, and for the last four years both opening shows and being the lead guitarist for Murphey. She is a very diverse artist and can include a wide variety of music in her shows including, Western, New Country, Bluegrass, Classic Country, and Folk. Whether Carin is on stage with a big band or playing as a solo entertainer, she is a crowd pleaser with her soothing vocals and intricate guitar skills. She has a great respect for sounds of traditional western music, but strives to create her own refreshing sound that will appeal to the lovers of the traditional music, as well as those new to the genre.

As Michael Martin Murphey says, "There are a lot of pretty girls with pretty voices. But few have committed to mastery of an instrument with which to accompany themselves or play solos with an ensemble. Few have earnestly tried to learn to write compelling lyrics. Carin Mari has it all - and then some."

The board of Society Hall, a 501c-3 non-profit organization, invites you to help us welcome back Carin and her delightful music to Society Hall, Friday, June 6th at 7:30 pm. Doors will open at 6:30.
