Sports and Mediation - Racing to Resolve Disputes
Wed Mar 31, 2021 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM SGT
Online, Zoom
Description
In the domestic context, mediation remains very much an underutilised (and misunderstood) tool in the resolution of disputes in the sporting world. Join us in a special event organised in conjunction with the SMP AGM where we speak to three experts in the sports arena on how mediation and ADR practices can be increasingly deployed to resolve sporting-related disputes and the bigger role mediation can play in the domestic landscape.
The Society of Mediation Professionals Singapore
invites you to a moderated panel session with Mr Oon Jin Teik, Mr Mark Mangan & Mr Poh Seng Song on mediation in the sporting world.
Join us to hear the views of a distinguished panel of experts to survey the landscape of ADR (with a focus on mediation) for sporting disputes in Singapore. What are the promises and challenges for more widespread resort to ADR in the sporting arena? What are the international practices that Singapore can draw from? What success stories can we take inspiration from? The SMP AGM will take place after the webinar.
A few days prior to the event, we will send you a separate email with your Zoom login details, so please watch out for this.
Finally please note that this event might be recorded. By attending the event, you consent to photographs and/or videos being taken which may be used by SMP for its website and related platforms (including newsletters, emails or social media sites). Please also note that although it is our full intention to host the speakers listed above, we cannot be responsible if one of more of the speakers are unable to attend the event because of unforeseen circumstances. We at SMP may, at our option, elect to proceed nonetheless with a smaller panel or with one or more alternative speakers should these unlikely circumstances occur.
