She Kills Monsters is a bold, comedic, and heartfelt story about grief, identity, and the transformative power of imagination. She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of both her parents and her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes discovers Tilly’s module for a homespun Dungeons & Dragons campaign, she finds herself longing to seize this opportunity to connect with her sister but having no clue where to begin. With the help of Chuck, a local hobby store employee and Dungeon Master, Agnes is pulled into a scrappy fantasy world where homicidal fairies, quirky adventurers, and campy monsters collide. Through this exploration of fantasy, reality, and those magical moments where the two intersect, Agnes learns who Tilly truly was, uncovers parts of herself along the way, and, of course, kills monsters. She Kills Monsters is a love letter to imagination, queer joy, and the heroes we no longer get to roll the dice for.
