"Easeful July" — Forest Therapy Walk

Sat Jul 6, 2024 10:30 - 13:00 Mont Royal (meet at Maison Smith)

Experience the ease and buoyant life of early summer with a forest therapy walk, and explore the more-than-human world in perhaps a new way.

_____________________

Forest therapy is founded on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku (which translates directly to forest bathing), and is a slow and immersive practice where people connect with forest environments through sensory experiences.

While we have known this intrinsically to be true for millenia, scientific studies have been proving for decades what an unparalleled form of preventative medicine it is for us to spend intentional time in nature. It is in these environments that our minds and bodies can truly rest, heal, and be restored, among many things.

Exploring the more-than-human world on a forest therapy walk often leads to experiences of awe, wonder, curiosity, and soft fascination, as well as reflections about one's life, and new or strengthened connections within ourselves, with others, and the web of life that supports us. Not to mention feeling very relaxed, grounded, and re-energized (see the testimonials page on my website), in addition to numerous other health benefits.

And so, I invite you to experience the natural world in perhaps a different way. No prior experience or knowledge is required.

If the cost presents a barrier for you please contact me; I reserve two spots on each walk on a sliding scale. 5% of proceeds from each walk are donated to the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal.

Lastly, I require a minimum of 3 participants to go ahead with my walks. If this minimum is not reached, I will issue a full refund.
