The Borrowed Room Events presents research-informed theatre, literature and public conversations exploring masculinity, identity, memory, place and LGBTQ+ lived experience.

The programme is created by Dr Steven Maxwell, a writer and and researcher at the University of Glasgow whose work focuses on health inequalities, masculinity, conversion practices, mental health and the experiences of LGBTQ+ communities.

Steven is the writer of The Borrowed Room, an intimate Scottish play examining friendship, shame, faith, belonging and the lasting effects of growing up different in a small community.
