Mayhem Film Festival | The Adventures of Prince Ahmed

A chance to see the world's oldest surviving animation film with a beautiful live accompaniment by harpist Elizabeth-Jane Baldry.

Prince Ahmed is one of the most ingenious films in the history of cinema. An achingly beautiful silent film, based on the stories from 1001 Arabian Nights, it is animated in silhouette by the original scissor-hand, Lotte Reiniger.

Before the screening we will also show a short film from the BFI's archive, Instruments of an Orchestra by Benjamin Britten. A treat for all the family!
