Contemporary Vocal Sünds
A playful evening of vocal performance with boundary-pushing singers Eleanor Westbrook and Oskar McCarthy, celebrating the radical spirit of 20th and 21st-century vocal music.
Following their acclaimed performances of Contemporary Vocal Sünds, Ellie and Oskar bring their genre-bending approach to Song in the City for an evening of new, experimental and reimagined vocal music.
Expect pioneering works from the contemporary repertoire alongside daring reinterpretations of music from the past, music by established and emerging composers, and some unexpected sounds along the way.
Eleanor Westbrook is an interdisciplinary performer working at the intersection of opera, physical theatre, clowning and experimental music. Known for her visceral energy and surrealist storytelling, she is committed to reimagining classical forms through a contemporary lens.
Oskar McCarthy is an actor-singer specialising in new music and old music performed in new ways. His work encompasses contemporary opera, experimental vocal performance, improvisation and interdisciplinary collaborations.
