Rolling Harmony in Derby | Singing workshop & Concert

Rolling Harmony is delighted to be coming to Derby for the first time to lead a singing workshop and to give a concert, invited by three local choirs -  Rise and Sing, Rough Truffles and Kaleidescope Community Choir.

Rolling Harmony is a vocal ensemble from the South West of England, blending a unique combination of artistic and vocal experience. We perform a diverse program of music rooted in English and American harmony singing traditions, thriving on songs with sparkling lyrics, tight rhythms, and thrilling harmonies. Rolling Harmony performs regularly to capacity audiences including Bath Abbey, Halsway Manor, Shaftesbury Fringe and in the far west of Cornwall.

Rolling Harmony singing workshops are full of variety, fun and harmony, open to all and enjoyed by a wide range of singers. Singing workshops are led by Jane Harris and Claire Stronach with Rolling Harmony singers supporting each vocal part, providing a rewarding experience for workshop participants.

Join us for a joyous harmony singing workshop in the afternoon. 
Come and sing with us... learn heart-lifting songs led jointly by Jane Harris and Claire Stronach with members of Rolling Harmony supporting each vocal part. Everything will be taught by ear... all welcome.

In the evening, come and hear everything from lively folk to the profound peace of an African American spiritual and sumptuous arrangements of much loved jazz standards. The concert will showcase Rolling Harmony's blend, versatility and vocal range. There’ll be something for everyone.

Rolling Harmony is continually evolving as an ensemble, exploring new repertoire and vocal styles. Formed by Jane Harris, Director of Songways in Bath, we bring together singers from Bath, Bradford on Avon, Shaftesbury and Taunton, united by a passion for vocal harmony and a love of performing.

We love to collaborate with other performers, including Windborne (touring vocal quartet from Massachusetts) and Dr Kathy Bullock, the world-renowned gospel leader from Berea, Kentucky. We also work directly with composers, including Don Jamison and John Mark Harrison from the US.

Tea and coffee will be available in the break.
You are welcome to bring your own supper to eat in the church or hall between the workshop and the concert.
The Jonty Farmer and Broadway pubs serve food and are within easy walking distance. You may need to book in advance.
