Sonic Tonic Temple

Sonic Tonic Temple is a collaborative project born out of love for movement and music. In summer 2024 Sophia Pallaro, yoga, meditation and movement teacher, partnered up with t-woc (Michael Donohoe), music producer and dj, offering a journey of live ambient music and moving meditation at All Together Now. It was the start of what has now become a recurring event. Sophia now leads Sonic Tonic Temple in collaboration with different musicians and DJs.

On Friday 11^th of July music producer and DJ Lerosa will join Sophia to perform for Sonic Tonic Temple in Segotia, a beautifully designed space art and yoga space in Rathmines that boasts a sound system designed and built by Toby Hatchett.

What to expect

The workshop is a blend of yoga and meditation practice and live ambient music performance.  The session will begin with a meditation to centre and ground. Sophia will guide participants through a mindful flow of movement attuned with Lerosa’s responsive performance taking them through a listening experience to awaken the senses and create a deep state of awareness. The session will end with a deep relaxation with ambient improvisation.

Sonic Tonic Temple is a collaborative project that blends yoga meditation and movement with live music performances from electronic artists working in ambient music in unique spaces.

It brings a fresh approach to embodied experiences, creating an opportunity for presence, connection, and community.

 
About Us

Sophia Pallaro is an experienced yoga and meditation teacher and teacher trainer, delivering classes and workshops since 2010. She is known for her teaching style which encompasses a deep focus on embodiment, free mindful flow, and for creating a safe and enjoyable space. She is also an Embodiment Life Coach and a sociologist. She works at the intersection of embodiment, education and inequality, particularly in community settings and with marginalised communities. Sophia holds a PhD in Sociology on yoga.

Lerosa is the alias of Dublin – based, Italian producer and DJ Leopoldo Rosa. His sound draws deeply on his diverse influences – dub, industrial, electro, trance, funk, IDM – and transform them into a sound signature that has always been uniquely his own. What comes through is a sound that speaks of Lerosa’s love for the studio, for the tangible substance of an audio frequency – analogue and digital, raw and processed, pure and saturated – and the intangible, indeed bewitching mystery of how these frequencies can transport us to other places. Notable performances include live and DJ sets at London’s Fabric (2009, 2012), Berlin’s Tresor (2012, 2013), Hamburg’s Golden Puddle (2015) and Sherkin Island’s Open Ear (2018). Lerosa is currently involved in a number of projects for independent dance labels.
