Sonora Collective is pleased to be collaborating with Helm Contemporary for an evening of chamber music and art by Vargas-Suarez Universal on Thursday, March 28th.

At 7:00 PM doors open for a reception and for audience members to take a closer look at Cosmovisiones, an exhibit that explores themes of the interstellar. Vargas-Suarez Universal’s work is a fully immersive experience of geometric abstraction and conceptual art.

The musical program is inspired by Vargas-Suarez Universal's work and creative practices. The artist will be in attendance and will speak to his vision and process. Compositions for flute and strings by Pēteris Vasks, Vivaldi, Borodin, Ginastera, and more will be featured by Sonora Collective.

Performers to include Katie Althen-Velázquez (flute), Julia Danitz (violin), Jeremías Sergiani-Velàzquez (violin), Leah Ferguson (viola), and Clare Monfredo (cello).

Doors open at 7:00 PM.

The musical portion of the evening will begin at 7:30 PM and last approximately one hour.
