Dynamic Yoga plus Q&A with Nadia Gilani, author of The Yoga Manifesto
Sun 12 Feb 2023 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The Island, BS1 2QD
Description
Join author and yoga teacher Nadia for a mid-morning yoga practice tea and conversation. The morning will kick off with a 75-minute energising dynamic practice that will end with a meditative finishing sequence designed to rest the body and quieten the mind. After class, we’ll grab a cuppa & you’ll have the opportunity to hear Soul Mates founder Hayley Yates in conversation with Nadia about her book The Yoga Manifesto and ask any questions you might have. You'll also have the opportunity to buy Nadia's book at a discounted price. (If you've already got a copy of the book feel free to bring it along if you'd like to get it signed!)
We’ll be hosting at the Island, a wonderful arts facility and events space in the centre of Bristol. Please make sure to bring a mat, as well as any other props, or blankets that you might like with you for your yoga practice.
Nadia Gilani is a yoga teacher and author of The Yoga Manifesto. She first discovered yoga after her mum took her to a class in the 1990s (and she really didn’t want to go!) She has been practising ever since. Nadia has extensive experience working with people with different bodies and from all walks of life and is deeply committed to making yoga inclusive. Her approach to teaching is contemporary and explorative while maintaining a deep respect for the ancient practice. Find out more about Nadia here: nadiagilani.co.uk
Soul Mates is a community founded by Hayley Yates, who runs monthly meet-ups for women* in Bristol to come together, meditate & have important conversations about the big stuff that is so often overlooked in day-to-day life. Hayley’s passionate about going beyond the small talk, and when she’s not hosting meet-ups, you can find her teaching yoga and working as part of the team at Bristol-based creative agency, Fiasco Design.
*Soul Mates is a women’s only community, but this event extends out to anyone of any gender identity, because yoga should be available to, and accessible for everyone.
