And wondered why some insects are so attracted to light at night?
Get curious and have all of your questions answered by expert field naturalist and president of the Upper Campaspe Landcare Group, John Walter at not just one.. but two free events in Kennett River this Sunday!
Meet our native pollinators and other beneficial insects
Workshop and Garden Walk
- When: 2:00pm – 4:30pm, Sunday 11 February 2024
- What: a one hour presentation followed by coffee cake and questions and a one hour walk to see what we can find!
- Where: Kennett River Surf Life Saving Club, Kennett River with a site visit to a local garden.
Afternoon tea will be provided.
Insects after dark - Who are the night visitors?
Discover nocturnal native insects at our light-sheet night.

- Where: Grey River Picnic Area, Wongarra, VIC

Guest speaker
John Walter grew up in Colac and spent much of his childhood in
the Otway’s and on the Surf Coast. Now a noted field naturalist and
photographer of small things, he lives in Central Victoria and returns
to our region each year to reengage with some of our wild places.
