Sat 29 Jun 2024 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Lavers Hill Community Hall, 43-47 Great Ocean Road, Lavers Hill, 3238
Description
Join fungal ecologist, Sapphire McMullan Fisher, for this 4-hour immersive deep dive into the fascinating world of fungi.
Sapphire is the founder of Fun Fungi Ecology and the co-author of Fungi4Land. Her work focuses on helping landowners foster fungi on their land, to support healthy soils, productive plants and biodiverse ecosystems.
In this workshop Sapphire will share insights on how we can actively contribute to the conservation of the unique fungi of the Otway region and cultivate their presence in our own backyards. After morning tea, we will head to a nearby property for a site visit to look at the optimal environments that foster the growth of fungi and gain practical insights into how everyday land management and gardening practices can support a diverse array of these beneficial organisms on our land.
