Southey Cinema Club is bringing you another Halloween Cinema Special! 🌟

🍿Are you bored of crowded, impersonal cinemas? Are you looking for a more intimate movie experience? Do you love local beer? Our cinema (& beer) club is in our upstairs events space, above the taproom in the centre of Penge.

We host regular movie screenings where you can enjoy the magic of the big screen with showings of both popular and independent films alongside our friends at Social Cinema Bromley.

Halloween Special: The Thing (1982)

John Carpenter’s The Thing is a masterclass in tension, paranoia and practical effects horror. Set in the frozen isolation of an Antarctic research station, a group of scientists discover that something monstrous lurks among them—an alien lifeform that can perfectly imitate any living being. As trust erodes and fear takes hold, the real terror isn’t just what’s outside in the snow… but who might already be infected inside.

Expect a perfectly atmospheric Halloween screening in our cosy upstairs cinema. We’ll have themed drinks, snacks, and that classic Southey Cinema Club communal vibe: a small room, big screen, and the chance to experience Carpenter’s cult masterpiece with fellow fans of scares, suspense and ’80s horror brilliance.

Seats are strictly limited to 24—so book early, and don’t trust anyone…

Cinema opens at 7:00pm. The film will start promptly at 7:30pm. Seating is unreserved.
