In Pursuit

Eileen will be reading travel stories from her book, In Pursuit, with journeys she took in the 1980s, pre mobile phones, when the world was varied and "culture shock" the norm. Smell the smells, hear the sounds, feel the humidity, and gaze at the wonder of a world that nothing in Eileen's upbringing had prepared her for. Come travel back in time, to a place you may remember but no longer exists.

Doors open at 7:15pm. Performance will start at 7:30pm. Seating is unreserved.

Eileen was a music teacher for 37 years. At the age of 60 she decided to clear her loft, and many months into this clearing on her way down the ladder from her loft hatch Eileen decided to write a show about this experience and to perform it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. A loyal and avid attendee of the Fringe for the past 18 years Eileen was well equipped to choose a venue, but had no acting experience beyond the classroom! To her surprise and delight the show was very well received. In 2023 she took 'Loft Clearance' to Edinburgh. Following in 2024 with the sequel ‘Loft Luggage’. Returning in 2025 with Darling, Darling. And now she's returning for more!

Eileen performed a preview of Loft Clearance, and a post-Edinburgh performance, in 2023 at Southey Brewery. Previewing every show, Upstairs at Southey since! She's also previously performed at the Three Hounds and The Raven on Tower Bridge Road. She also performed two shows at the Perth fringe festival in Australia early in 2025.
