Calling all young people aged 11–18 who love music, singing and writing lyrics! 🎶

Join Marc at The Basement for a 2-day songwriting workshop designed especially for young people aged 11–18.

Lyrics but no tune?

Tune but no words?

Rift but no idea where to go from here?

This condensed holiday workshop is the perfect opportunity to develop an original song with a professional songwriter. Working in a small group with young songwriters of a similar age and musical experience, participants will come away with practical songwriting tools and techniques they can use again and again.

The workshop will cover:

• Creating song concepts and structures – using songwriting briefs to spark original ideas and learning how to shape a song so it holds the listener’s attention.
• Creative lyric writing – using fun exercises to transform lyrics from ordinary to powerful.
• Chords, melody and harmony – exploring how to build interesting chord progressions and memorable melodies.

Beyond the techniques, the workshop is designed to build confidence and encourage self-expression, helping young people develop confidence in their own creative voice.

There will be opportunities for both beginners and those who are already writing their own songs and would like some inspiration, guidance and new ideas.
