Emma Holcroft is a founding member of the Swingtime Big Band and has earned a reputation for her dynamic performances and collaborations with leading UK jazz artists. Equally at ease performing with her own quintet or fronting a big band—where many of you will recognize her—Emma brings energy and charisma to every stage. She brings jazz standards to life with emotion, skill, and a deep connection to the music. She is widely recognized for her ability to interpret lyrics with authenticity and feeling, creating performances that truly resonate with her audience.

Emma also plays a key role behind the scenes as one of the directors of the Southport Jazz Festival.

John Padfield is a well respected and highly accomplished musician. He is a popular figure on the North West jazz scene playing with many different ensembles including Swingtime Big Band and The Chicago Teddy Bears.

Leading the rhythm section is acclaimed drummer Gaz Hughes, a major force on the British jazz scene. His recent national tours and albums have earned wide praise for their sophistication and swing.

On piano, Andrzej Baranek brings brilliance and charisma. Recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting jazz pianists, he’s a favourite among audiences and peers alike.

Completing the rhythm section on bass is renowned jazz performer and educator Steve Berry, whose exceptional musicianship and deep understanding of jazz make him a vital presence on any stage.
