Lino and woodblock printmaking are wonderful ways of making plates to print from.

From the images you bring with you, you will be choosing an image to either trace or draw on your block and then carving out the image on the plate to eventually print it either by using a barren or using the provided Gunning Etching Press.

If you are more experienced with this method of printmaking but would like to uncover the mystery of reduction printing with colour Jenny will show you how to register your plate and paper and print and take you through this process.

You will be using a range of gorgeous tools and hand and spindle rollers as well so if you are beginner or experienced this is a great workshop to come on.

Jenny loves printmaking, and has been printmaking since she was 7 years old, picking up on her fathers’ enthusiasm as a skilled printmaker, she caught the bug early for this artform! She loves aquatint etchings and making large pieces with this method. She is an expert in all printmaking techniques, having both qualifications and many years of experience Jenny is now not only a full time printmaker in her own right but she also supports the customers of her family business – Ironbridge Printmakers, who have been making the fantastic Gunning Etching Presses and other fabulous printmaking equipment for the past 41 years.

Jenny is in the process of writing a book on printmaking techniques which she is managing to juggle around both her own art career and their business and customers’ needs! She’s a busy artist and business woman but her love for printmaking is at the heart of Jenny’s every day practice and she loves sharing her enthusiasm for these skills with new people.
