This workshop will provide the opportunity to explore using mixed media materials intuitively in an accordion style folded sketchbook – Jen will take you through the process using collage papers, paints, printing techniques, pastels, inks and drawing materials.

Using the local landscape as inspiration, the day will involve some sketching on the beach if the weather permits! Working in a concertina sketchbook allows for continuity and creativity, and students will be encouraged to work in an experimental way.

Creating layers, folds, apertures, and a unique personal sketchbook that you can take home, treasure, and potentially use as inspiration for further artworks, as well as the skills and confidence to create more for yourself in the future too.

Jennifer Bennett is an artist & printmaker, living in Sidmouth. She has a fine art degree and has been a trained art teacher for many years. She currently teaches art part time at Sidmouth College and regularly exhibits and sells her work through her business “The Pebble House”. She paints and sells her current work from her studio in Libra Court, Sidmouth.
