This workshop will offer students the opportunity to explore using collage and mixed media to create expressive, intuitive painting using layers.

In a relaxed atmosphere, Jen will show participants how to build layers and create an expressive painting: you will be shown how to build collage layers, create mark-making and painted papers, explore paint techniques, and improve use of colour by exploring paint mixing.

You will then be guided through the entire process to create an atmospheric, expressive painting, loosely inspired by your choice of a place or landscape photo that you love.

Jennifer Bennett is an artist & printmaker, living in Sidmouth. She has a fine art degree and has been a trained art teacher for many years. She currently teaches art part time at Sidmouth College and regularly exhibits and sells her work through her business “The Pebble House”. She paints and sells her current work from her studio in Libra Court, Sidmouth.
