Learn valuable techniques to help you simplify a scene and respond quickly, yet accurately with a focus on mixing colours from a limited palette.
Learn to paint more freely within a shorter space of time, mimicking the effect and drama of painting outdoors. Gain confidence and skills to paint landscapes/ seascapes from within a studio in the fast and loose ‘plein air’ style. Improve your colour mixing and application of oil paint, reacting more instinctively to create lively and fresh landscape paintings.
Learn to mix natural colours for sky, clouds, greens and water areas. Tips on how to compose your painting and capture impressions of trees and figures within a scene will be covered.
You will learn how to prepare a tint for a canvas and where to start!
Hannah Twine works as a professional artist & tutor selling her work in galleries and exhibitions, whilst also specialising in animal & human portrait commissions. In addition to her own work she runs art workshops across Devon, Dorset & also in France, tutoring both adults and children. Hannah demonstrates for art societies across the South West, sharing her passion and techniques for creating impactful artwork with a "less is more" approach.
Most of Hannah's training has been with Nicholas Beer (Senior Instructor at Charles Cecil Studios, Florence) and she takes inspiration from the great masters such as Sergeant, Munnings and contemporary artists Richard Schmid, Ken Howard RA and Stephen Brown RA. Sound draughtsmanship underpins Hannah’s art and her fascination to re-create light and life brings her work alive.
