The Plague narrates: 1600s Venice, destitute composer Vivaldi and wealthy castrato Farinelli share friendship. Vivaldi reunites with Anna, a former singer in his orphan choir. Her father dons a Plague Doctor costume for coin, unknowingly bringing death home. Anna and Farinelli die; grief silences Vivaldi—until her ghostly voice births “Spring,” defying even the Plague.
