How to create personalised client focussed 'SMART' objectives
What's it all about?
We all know that our clients' needs, goals and objectives are the bedrock of any Financial Plan, as well as the foundation for the advice and recommendations we give them. If we don't have SMART Goals and Objectives for the client, how do we know our advice is suitable and right for them?
This practical workshop will help you to identify all those goals, objectives and needs. We will be looking at how to get and use the information that's been provided by the client, as well as data in the fact find and file notes, to create SMART client objectives on which to build their Financial Plan and/or formulate advice and recommendations.
It's going to be an interactive and collaborative session with plenty of discussions and sharing of ideas. There's also going to be practical examples and exercises to help bring it to life and really cement your learning for the future.
It also provides 1.25 hours of CPD that's endorsed and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI).
A little more about the session and the all important Learning Objectives

*️⃣ Perhaps you think you have all the parts of the puzzle but you’re just not quite sure how they all fit together?
Quite often, all the info you need to build the client's SMART goals and objectives will be there but sometimes it can be a bit difficult to see the wood for the trees! So this session will help you to:
🔹 understand what is a SMART objective or goal
🔹 learn questions and techniques to get the right info from the client to create them
🔹 learn and understand how to identify SMART objectives using hard and soft information in the Fact Find, File and Meeting notes
🔹 understand what is the difference between a Financial Planning goal and an investment objective
🔹 learn how to write SMART objectives that are personalised to the client, for use in their Financial Plan and when preparing advice and recommendations, as well as in their suitability reports
And it’s going to be a Flash session – 90 minutes and we’re done – quick as a flash!

This session will be helpful for aspiring, new and trainee financial planners, paraplanners and advisers wanting to learn the skills needed to get the right information from clients and the fact find, to be able to build SMART client goals.
It'll be useful for existing planners, advisers and paraplanners who are looking to refresh their knowledge. It's also helpful for financial planners and advisers wanting to make sure they're providing the right info for their paraplanners to be able to work on cases and prepare Plans and suitability reports.
