Carbon Literacy for Town & Parish Councils - Speak Carbon Collective

On the 25th June & 2nd July 2026, Speak Carbon Collective are delivering open Carbon Literacy training for people working in Town & Parish Councils, using the Carbon Literacy Project's Town & Parish Councils toolkit.

Speak Carbon Collective is an accredited Carbon Literacy Training Organisation with several years experience working with local authorities. 

This is an interactive, discussion-based course covering the science and impacts of climate change, and exploring the actions those working in Town & Parish Councils can take to address climate change. During the second session, participants will be supported to make two pledges to reduce emissions within their councils and the communities they serve.

This course will also empower participants to connect with fellow Town & Parish Council employees from councils across the country, allowing them to hear different perspectives, share best practice and discuss what climate change means for their work.

On successful completion of the course and assessment, participants will be certificated as Carbon Literate.

Places cost £190 per person. Certification fees are included in this price.

This online course is split over two sessions, you need to attend both sessions to complete the course:

Session one - Thursday 25th June 2026 - 09:30-13:30

Session two - Thursday 2nd July 2026 - 09:30-13:30

The training will be delivered online via Zoom. Joining instructions will be sent to participants one week before the first session. Participants will be asked to complete around one hour of prework before each session.
