About this Dinner: Lamb al Asador is the dinner that defines us — iconic, soulful, and deeply Spice. Smoked low and slow for hours over an open flame, the lamb anchors a feast that celebrates late summer’s abundance: farm vegetables at their peak, herbs gone wild, and the quiet magic of a meal shared under open sky. The table itself finds a new home every few years, weaving through the farm like a thread of tradition — familiar, yet ever-changing.
Spice Acres, nestled in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, remains the home of this beloved annual event. Once an active farm, Spice Acres is part of the Countryside Initiative — a rare program conserving national parkland through small-scale agriculture — the property still reflects the values that shaped our kitchen: stewardship, seasonality, and a deep respect for the land that feeds us.

What is a Plated Landscape™ Dinner?
Started in 2006, Plated Landscapes are the brainchild of Chef/Founder/Farmer Ben Bebenroth. These (mostly) al fresco dining experiences take place at our farm, Spice Acres and other scenic locations across Northeast Ohio. Each evening is designed as a full sensory immersion — guests are welcomed into the landscape itself, surrounded by the sights, sounds, and flavors of the season.
The evening begins with a signature beverage and seasonally inspired hors d’oeuvres, followed by a multi-course, wine-paired dinner that showcases the region’s most vibrant ingredients. When weather allows, dinners unfold under open skies; when it doesn’t, guests gather in beautifully transformed indoor spaces that echo the natural world outside.
Plated Landscapes is more than a dinner, it’s a celebration of place, people, and the powerful connection between food and the environment that sustains it.

Can you handle dietary needs?
Our menus are fully from-scratch and designed by the chef, so we can’t accommodate every allergy — but we do offer plant-based options and can safely serve guests with Celiac disease.
Please email Jess at least seven days before the event if you have dietary needs or didn’t note them when purchasing tickets.
Can we sit with another reservation?
Absolutely! Just email Jess with the name on the other reservation at least seven days before, and we’ll make sure you’re seated together.
What should I wear?
There’s no dress code — go casual, go fancy, go wherever your vibe takes you. Just be sure to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes (heels + grass = questionable life choices).
Is dinner outdoors?
Usually! With the exception of Kilnside Supper, we love dining under the stars whenever the weather plays nice. But since this is Ohio, there’s always a cozy rain plan ready — same vibes, just under a roof.
When should I arrive?
Cocktail hour starts at 6 PM sharp — don’t miss the welcome cocktail + passed bites before dinner kicks off. (Trust us, you’ll want in on that first sip.)
Is gratuity included?
Nope, but it’s always appreciated — and our team will love you forever. Cash or Venmo will be options night of.
Will photos be taken?
Yep! By attending, you agree to possibly appear in future marketing + social posts. (Smile — you’re officially part of the Spice story now.)
