Friday 20th November
Doors: 7:30pm
Music: 8pm
Spilt Milk 2026 music programme opens with a very special audio-visual event.
Joining us from Paris is Gamut. Panorama is their new stage creation that combines music (modular synthesizers) and visual art (video projection/object manipulation/paper and drawing). The two mediums, visual and music, feed into one another: drawings can produce sounds, while modular synthesizers serve as a source for live visual creation.
In 2020, Gamut (Soia, Stéphanie Delpouve, Jérôme Vassereau, and Julien Sénélas) presented their first collaboration, In C pour 11 oscillateurs et 53 formes, a unique reinterpretation of In C, the seminal work by Terry Riley. Building on this initial experience, the collective continues their exploration with this new creation, pushing the boundaries of their research into the relationship between music and imagery.
Panorama is an original work inspired by the gamelan (a percussion ensemble integral to many traditions in Indonesian culture). It is an exploration of the concept of perception—accuracy/harmony—using various scales, tonal systems, and musical temperaments.
*Please note due to the nature of the performance, the auditorium will be in complete darkness, admission will only be permitted at the start of the event and between acts.
Skald Crow is a shapeshifter who absorbs the world chatter, tearing at cultural carrion and regurgitating it into sound and story. Utilising field recordings, sample and beats to create layered noise that transcends definition. Digital knifes cut through the present to allow multiple realities to ooze out. Skald Crow is a project of Rob Ireson; innovative electronic artist and sound sculptor whose work explores the intersections of experimental sound and dancefloor energy.
