SPILT MILK x VINYL BITCH

Spilt Milk is back and we’re starting by getting together. For this one, we’re joining forces with Vinyl Bitch for a day of music and painting.

Before our next full-scale event, we wanted to create something more intimate: a day for meeting new people, making something together and reconnecting with the Spilt Milk community.

No need to be an artist or a DJ, or arrive knowing anyone.

1:00pm - 2:00pm: FLINTA ONLY VINYL WORKSHOP WITH VINYL BITCH 💿
2:00pm - 6:30pm: COLLABORATIVE PAINTING  and VINYL DJs🎨

From 1:00pm, Vinyl Bitch will lead a 1h FLINTA* vinyl workshop, introducing you to the foundations of turntablism.

They'll get you comfortable with the equipment and walk you through cueing, beatmatching, and mixing on wax.

Vinyl Bitch was created to challenge the gatekeeping that still exists around vinyl and DJ culture, building a feminist and inclusive space where FLINTA* turntablists can learn, experiment and take up space behind the decks.

Never mixed vinyl before? Perfect!
Don't have records? We'll provide.

At 2:00pm, we're starting the collaborative painting on the sound of our favourite Vinyl Bitch selectors.

In the center of the room, there will be one huge blank canvas. We invite everyone to leave a mark on it! Paint something. Add to somebody else’s idea. Leave a message, a shape, a tiny detail or take over an entire area.
By the end of the day, what started as a blank canvas will have become something made by all of us.

While the canvas changes throughout the evening, Vinyl Bitch will curate a programme of FLINTA* Vinyl DJs.

The finished collaborative artwork will be exhibited at our next main Spilt Milk event.

Spilt Milk was created to celebrate gender-minority artists and create spaces where visual art, music and community can exist together.
