Foraging with Wildroots Wood

Fri 16 Oct 2026 10:00 - 13:00 A woodland near Thanet

Drawing on many years working in woodland management, conservation and traditional countryside skills, Wildroots Wood (William Del Tufo) combines practical identification with natural history, folklore and ecology. His walks are suitable for complete beginners through to enthusiastic improvers, with an emphasis on curiosity, careful observation and developing a deeper appreciation of the woodland ecosystem.

At the heart of Wildroots Wood is a simple belief: that spending time in nature can help us reconnect—not only with the woodland around us, but also with ourselves and with one another. “Fungi provide the perfect excuse to slow down, look closely, share discoveries and rediscover the wonder that is so easily overlooked in everyday life.”

About/bio:  William is a naturalist, woodland worker and founder of Wildroots Wood – Foraging Calm, where he leads relaxed, small-group walks exploring the remarkable world of fungi and our relationship with the natural landscape. Above all, William hopes people leave the woods feeling more curious, more connected and with a greater sense of wonder than when they arrived.
