The main reason behind to initiate Sahasra Lingavarana is to give opportunity to interested families to do 1116 Siva Linga prathishtas.

Numerous deities including Rama, Vishnu, Brahma, Indra, Goddess Parvathi, Navagraha devatas, Asta dikpalaka devatas, Sri Krishna, Pancha Pandavas, Ravana, and Vibhishana have performed Shiva Linga Pratishtha to fulfill their Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha aspirations. This act ensures liberation from the cycle of rebirth, known as “Punarjanma,” leading to attainment of Sivaloka Prapti in the afterlife. In the essence, consecrating a Siva Lingam is essentially a very spiritual rite that gives devotees the chance to receive divine blessings, purification, Protection of the family from bad evils and spiritual elevation.
