Join us at St Aloysius' College on Monday, 8th June (5:00 pm – 7:00 pm) for an evening of networking, practical ideas, and community.
At STACS, we know how vital it is to have a strong network for support, guidance, and exchanging fresh ideas. This event is a fantastic opportunity for current Secondary Computing Science teachers, Primary & Early Years specialists, and our incoming PGDE Computing Science student teachers to come together, build connections, and leave with practical ideas for the classroom.
We are especially excited to officially welcome our soon-to-be probationers to the profession!
🛠️ What to Expect: Workshops & Insights
The evening features a choice of short, impactful workshops running across multiple tracks. Sessions will include:
- 🌟 Maximise Your Probation Year: A dedicated workshop tailored specifically for PGDE students and incoming probationers, packed with tips. Hear from Tim Wang (Computing Science Teacher), who is just completing his probation year and will be sharing first-hand advice on transitioning to your first permanent post in August.
- 📈 BGE, Gender Balance & Curriculum Success: Hear directly from departments successfully boosting overall BGE uptake while actively narrowing the gender gap. Scott and Katie will share the exact strategies they used to transform uptake and female engagement in their departments.
