Staffordshire St presents The Soft Launch — Singles Mixer: Queer Edition

Come and flirt! A night of friends, lovers, and… maybe… more.

Join us and meet the love of your life or your latest watercooler crush.

Age 27+

This is a queer event, open to any and all non-heterosexuals looking for a chance to meet, mingle, and flirt the night away. There’ll be flirting, modern, breezy speed-dating, deliciously priced drinks, office cupids, a DJ set, and, you guessed it, more flirting.

Hosted by Lola Gillies-Creasey and The Soft Launch’s very own Amelia Horgan, we’ll start with speed-dating, before opening up to informal mingling with the chance to talk and flirt with everyone.

Spotted someone across the room you didn’t get to chat to? Now’s your chance to sidle up, assisted by our helpful but mischievous Office Cupids.

Come alone, or bring a (single) wingperson and meet someone new ;)

For this event, we have two types of tickets available:

Men and non-binary people interested in men and non-binary people

Women and non-binary people interested in women and non-binary people

We’re aware that this leaves out people in both categories who are attracted to the other category. This was the only way we could get our dating algorithm to work. What it means, practically, is that you’ll be paired within your category and outside of it.

You’ll have two rounds of dating, i.e. six speed-dates, within your ticket category, and one round, i.e. three speed-dates, outside of it. We’ll have plenty of mingling time, assisted by winged office cupids, to flirt inside, outside of your categories, or to make new pals.

Please select whichever ticket category you feel most aligned with.

If you would like to attend but the cost is prohibitive, please contact info@staffordshirest.com. Nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds.

This edition of The Soft Launch is a queer event for ages 27+.

Accessibility: There is step-free access to the gallery via the door to the left hand side of the main entrance. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet. Staffordshire St is an independent project space in Peckham, South East London. The venue facilitates arts and cultural events and provides affordable studios for artists, makers and designers. ​

Staffordshire St is not-for-profit and all income is invested into developing our public programme which launched the summer of 2022. The venue was established as an art gallery in 2017, before then it was vacant for many years after a community centre closed. Originally it was built as a Methodist Hall. We intend to support a range of cultural events for the local community.
