Level 1 Further Stages: Creative Activities, Techniques, and Class Structure - 606010 [UK Time Zone]

Mon 5 Oct 2026 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

This Level 1 training session is designed specifically for Further Stages teachers, offering practical tools, creative inspiration, and a clear framework to help you deliver dynamic, challenging, and rewarding sessions for older students at Stagecoach.

We’ll begin by exploring the unique roles and responsibilities of a Further Stages teacher and how these shape the student experience. You’ll gain engaging content ideas across dance, drama, and singing, including effective vocal and physical warm-ups, inclusive games and activities, and strategies that build strong class culture and student ownership.

The session will guide you through lesson planning and structure, showing how to link content to the Stagecoach Educational Framework, and how to implement stretch, challenge, and pace to support continued progress and creative development. You’ll also explore cool-down techniques, feedback strategies, and the importance of embedding life skills and motivation in your teaching.

We’ll cover expectations around leadership and behaviour management, along with the role of the teacher in nurturing responsibility, professionalism, and performance-readiness in Further Stages students. There will also be time dedicated to performance production and stagecraft, ensuring your work culminates in confident, high-quality outcomes that reflect both growth and creativity.

With space for collaboration and an opportunity to share good practice, this session is ideal for new or transitioning teachers stepping into the Further Stages environment, or anyone looking to refine and refresh their approach. Walk away feeling confident, connected, and equipped to elevate every Further Stages session.

Important Advisory on Course Levels

Please note: The term "level" as used in our teacher training courses refers solely to Stagecoach's internal framework of professional development. It is designed to indicate progression within our own three-tier training structure and should not be interpreted as representing a formal qualification level. These internal levels are not equivalent to primary qualifications and do not correspond to any nationally recognised attainment levels as defined by Ofqual or any other awarding body. By proceeding with your booking, you acknowledge that you understand and accept this distinction.
