Level 2 Behavioural Management: Effective Communication and Strategies for Handling Challenges 606010 [UK Time Zone]

Wed 31 Mar 2027 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM BST Online, Zoom

Empowering Stagecoach teachers to lead calm, confident, and engaging learning environments through proactive strategies and purposeful communication.

This practical and reflective training session is designed to equip teachers with a toolkit of behavioural management strategies tailored to the dynamic and creative Stagecoach classroom. From planning with intention to handling in-the-moment challenges, the session explores how to set the tone, maintain focus, and build respectful relationships with learners of all ages.

Key content includes:

  • Planning and lesson structure to support smooth transitions and reduce opportunities for disruption

  • Setting respectful boundaries and communicating them clearly

  • Using energy, body language, and realistic expectations to guide behaviour

  • Challenge and intervention strategies that de-escalate rather than confront

  • Exploring the Stagecoach Code of Conduct: how to introduce it at the start of term and what it looks like in action (with video examples)

  • Creating your own age-appropriate code of conduct for older students, and how to integrate it gradually into sessions

  • Case studies to reflect on complex scenarios and apply learning

  • 20 practical actions to boost attention and engagement

  • Understanding and applying reasonable adjustments for individual needs

  • Asking effective questions to guide focus and redirect behaviour

  • Introducing and using a behaviour tracking sheet

  • Awards and rewards that reinforce positive behaviour

  • Supporting older students with a challenges and choices approach

  • Identifying proactive strategies—and recognising the actions and approaches to avoid

By the end of this session, teachers will feel empowered with a deeper understanding of behaviour as communication, along with a diverse range of tools to promote responsibility, respect, and engagement across all age groups.
