Stansted House Opening 2026

Step inside the family seat of the Earls of Bessborough, with a visit to Stansted House in 2026. 

Explore the beautiful State Rooms, once used by the family to entertain guests, and the extensive Servants Quarters below stairs.

Our friendly volunteer stewards will be around the House and Chapel of St Paul to tell you more about Stansted Park's fascinating history and to answer any questions you may have. 

Access: 

Step-free access is available around the entire House and the Chapel of St Paul. Please note that the lift may not be able to accommodate some motorised wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

A free buggy service runs between the House, Chapel and Garden Centre Car Park during House opening. This buggy can accommodate one wheelchair user. The buggy can be prebooked by emailing visitors@stanstedpark.co.uk or calling 02392 412265 (opt 5) ahead of your visit or can be found on the day in the Garden Centre Car Park or outside of the Chapel of St Paul.

Further Information: 

Stansted House is open from Easter Sunday until the end of September each year. Our opening times are Sunday-Tuesday, 1pm-5pm with last admission to the House at 4pm.

Stansted House is also open for pre-booked Group Visits throughout the year. This includes free-flow and guided tour visits. 

Please check our website before you travel as the House is sporadically closed for private functions during the season.
