Starkloff Disability Institute Universal Design Summit 8 Tours

Fri Nov 20, 2026 2:00 PM - 4:15 PM CST

Starkloff Disability Institute is proud to offer inclusive design tours local to St. Louis, Missouri as part of Universal Design Summit 8. The purpose of these tours is to showcase local organizations that include inclusive design aspects promoting Universal Design. These locations feature examples of Universal Design such as tactile exhibits, calming corners, and sensory gardens. The tours will take place on the afternoon of Friday, November 20. Starkloff will provide travel accommodations from Saint Louis University (SLU).

The cost of your tour tickets will cover the costs associated with any travel expenses and tour logistics. These tickets will only provide access to the tours associated with the summit and will not provide access to the summit content itself. You do not need to sign up for the summit to attend one of these tours.

All tour attendees will be expected to be ready to depart from SLU at 2:00 pm. Each tour should return to Saint Louis University by 4:30 pm. Should you have any questions, please reach out to Universal Design program coordinator Rachel Goldmeier at rgoldmeier@starkloff.org.

The three tour destinations demonstrate elements and principles of Universal Design. Recognizing that no single environment can fully meet every individual's needs, attendees are encouraged to review the features and accommodations available at each location when selecting a tour. SDI is not responsible for the accessibility, accommodations, operations, or conditions of these off-site venues.
