The Handless Maiden: Growing beyond Learned Helplessness

When we learn about what is happening now on and with our beautiful planet, we are confronted with our own Disempowerment, Learned helplessness, Confusion, Trauma response of fear, freeze, fawn, our Victim and/or Perpetrator mentality. But we must step beyond these labels and definitions in order to respond to these times. We must surrender to Earth’s wisdom and listen to and be nourished by something other than the status quo and business as usual. Submitting to a journey in which our consciousness is changed, we can create beauty in these times and let Earth dream through us. Our actions are yoked with the journey of Earth, as we remember we are part of nature, bearing the fruit of future generations we will never see. We do not know how the story will end, we can only participate in the now. 

What if we willingly submit to losing our ways of being that are adolescent or childish; in which we understand ourselves to be cared for unquestioningly by life, where we can receive anything and everything we want, without giving back to Earth, consuming relentlessly. What if we go into the wilds of our own hearts and let ourselves be humbled, become close to the ground? What if we say yes to the whole journey, which is not easy or comfortable or priveleged or unquestioned. What if we agree to marrying ourselves to our longing and offering the beauty created from that empty place within us made the portal to life’s true meaning. What if that place within us, the wound, were the place from which our greatest gifts might emerge, if we only stopped telling the story of the victim? Then what might happen? Magic, transformation, empowerment and the capacity to manifest a vision that arises not from a consciousness that created the problem we are in and in which we have been steeped in since birth, rather from a wilder wiser consciousness, awaits you.
