This Founder University Session will be presented by Lauren Besso, who will cover important employment policies to keep you compliant when considering starting your own company, and the importance of establishing a positive company culture. Topics that will be covered in this session include:

• Importance of job descriptions and how to create one
• Understanding exempt vs non-exempt roles
• Create an employee handbook to reflect your company culture
  • Policies that promote diversity
• State & federal compliance requirements
• Ongoing anti-harassment training

Lauren Besso graduated from Reno High School and then from the University of Arizona with a degree in Business Management. She started her career in Human Resources working in tech in San Francisco. She moved back home to Reno seven years ago and began working for The Applied Companies (TAC), an Human Resources Outsourcing company. As the Vice President of Client Services at TAC, Lauren partners with small-to-medium size companies to help them grow compliantly. Lauren’s passionate about delivering creative solutions that help her clients and her internal team members obtain their workforce goals.
