This 8 week course will introduce you to the tools and techniques of creating narrative longform which is both simple and engaging.
We will explore various approaches to group storytelling, with a main focus on world creation and reincorporation.

Story Spine
Narrative Diamond (World expansion and reincorporation)
The importance and joy of details
Tying narrative threads together for a satisfying ending
Character and motivation
Please get in touch with any access needs, all exercises can be adjusted as needed. Please note that the final class of the course (29 October) falls in half term. One week will be taught by a different teacher.
About the teacher:
Jennifer (She/Her) is a London based performer and teacher, with special interest in stage work, physicality and puppetry. Jennifer trained as an actor and has been working in the industry for over 15 years in scripted, devised and fully improvised work.
She currently performs regularly in London and International improv festivals with ‘Somewhat Theatre’, ‘The Pretend Company’, ‘La Wronge’ and duo show ‘Jennifer & Emily’ with Emily Murphy.

Refund Policy
We regret that we are not able to offer refunds once a space has been booked, so please bear this in mind before you buy. You are free to sell your space on the course to another improviser should you not be able to attend. If the event is cancelled by us, e.g. if minimum numbers are not reached, refunds will be issued.
The venue
The workshop will take place in the Yellow Room of Westmill Community Centre, Hitchin, SG5 2PG. The room is on the ground floor and has free parking onsite, and is roughly a 35 minute walk from Hitchin train station (there is no direct bus service).
