‘First Annual Walthamstow Messiah’

For the first time ever, one of the world’s most beloved classics, Handel’s ‘Messiah’ comes to Walthamstow for the 2019 Borough of Culture. A rousing performance to usher in the holiday season, complete with live orchestra, choirs and exceptional soloists, and the opportunity to sing along in a mass rendition of the famous ‘Hallelujah Chorus’. A welcoming reception follows, complete with mulled wine, mince pies and seasonal carols.

Hallelujah! G. F. Handel’s most famous work is so important to our national culture that it appears on the ‘Life in the UK’ Citizenship Test! Our performance features the Waltham Forest Community Choir, alongside our full orchestra and dazzling soloists. A major community event proudly supported by Waltham Forest Borough of Culture 2019.
