Mount Melleray .. The Short Way Round

This is a 12km walk along St Declan's Way and the Pilgrim Paths of Mount Melleray following a series of woodland trails, deer tracks and open mountain paths. The terrain is varied and a moderate level of fitness is required. The walk will take about 3 hours to complete and will be led by guides.

It will raise funds for the South East Mountain Rescue Association in Ireland (known as SEMRA) and the Newcastle First Responders. SEMRA are responsible for search and rescue in the mountains of the South East of Ireland and have saved many lives while the First Responders play an equally vital role in emergency response in the area. We are delighted to help fundraise for both charities.

Registration is in St Mary's Community Hall, Mount Melleray from 10am with parking nearby.  The walk will depart at 11am and refreshments will be served there on our return!

The walk is being organised by the St Declan's Way and Knockmealdown Active teams, supported by the people of Mount Melleray and the Ave Maria University.
