The Scottish Ball: Fezziwig Edition

Join us for another year of festive Christmas music, elegant group dancing, fellowship, and merriment at the Scottish Ball: Fezziwig Edition.

Inspired by the joyful Christmas celebrations of Fezziwig's warehouse, this multigenerational evening brings together families, friends, and guests of all ages for an unforgettable night of dancing, singing, laughter, and community. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, you'll find a warm welcome and plenty of opportunities to join in the fun.

More than a dance, the Scottish Ball is a celebration of Christian fellowship, family culture, and timeless traditions. No partner or previous dance experience is needed. The dances are taught, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the memories tend to linger long after the evening ends.

Who Can Attend?

Everyone. If you can walk, you can dance.

Grandparents, parents, teens, children, and little ones all share the floor together. One of the things that makes the Scottish Ball special is seeing multiple generations enjoying time together, dancing side by side.

Attire

Dress as formally as you wish.

Some families wear their "Sunday best." Others arrive in black-tie attire, Scottish kilts, military dress, or historic clothing. All are welcome. Gentlemen are asked to wear at least a necktie. Ladies are encouraged to choose a dress that touches the knee or lower, and has a modest neckline.

Potluck Finger Foods

Please bring a finger-food dish to share, preferably served on a clear, white, or gold plate.  This is intended as a small snack during the dance, not as an entire meal.

Think small, easy-to-eat bites that do not require utensils, bowls, or significant cleanup. Water will be provided.

How the Scottish Ball Began

Nearly two decades ago, a handful of like-minded families shared a vision: to create a beautiful event where entire families could gather, celebrate, and participate together.

We wanted our children to grow up experiencing graciousness, hospitality, and joyful fellowship. We wanted an event where parents, grandparents, teens, and children danced together rather than being separated into different worlds. We wanted to cultivate traditions that reflected a distinctly Christian view of family, community, and dance.

What began as a small offering unexpectedly became one of the most beloved traditions of the year. Families discovered that the Scottish Ball was about far more than dancing. It fostered friendships, strengthened community bonds, created lifelong memories, and gave children, teens, and adults something genuinely beautiful to anticipate each year. The Scottish Ball became a foundational part of raising our children in the paideia of the Lord.

Perhaps the comment we hear most often is:

"I had no idea how beautiful this was going to be... and how much I would enjoy the dancing."

If you've attended before, we look forward to seeing you again. If this will be your first Scottish Ball, we invite you to come experience the tradition for yourself.
