Tour Details
The Stetson Mansion offers visitors entrance into the home of Florida's First Snowbird. The winter home of famed hat maker John B Stetson between 1886 and 1906 is the most authentic historic site in Central Florida. 95% of the original mansion's architectural details are showcased in this magnificent High Victorian mansion which has undergone an adaptive restoration for the ages as if the original wealthy family still owned it. It is not a museum stuck in the 19th century with old furniture or drapes. Intricate wood carvings, 16 original wood mosaic floor patterns and 10,000 panes of antique glass are the star attractions here.
Our lively friendly guides welcome you as a guest in this privately owned and occupied residence as they share historic stories and amazing accomplishments. First you will tour the first and second floors of the mansion including the owner's private quarters. The tour will then continue to the 3rd floor to see 3 more beautiful and unusual designer bedrooms, 4 more brilliantly installed bathrooms, the Board Room and Stetson Memories Room. Guests will hear more history and stories about John B. Stetson. The tour will conclude in the School House. This Polynesian inspired building was originally built as the estate's kitchen. Retooled as a school house for the Stetson children, it is now a one bedroom Zen guest house.
Photography is not permitted inside the Mansion for security reasons. Pictures are welcome on the grounds and in the School House.
