PVG Disclosure Scotland Legislation information session

Join Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS), in partnership with SVE, for an online information session covering the current PVG scheme requirements and guidance.

Following the changes to PVG legislation introduced in April 2025, and subsequent updates to guidance from Disclosure Scotland, these sessions are designed to support organisations and volunteers to understand who requires a PVG check and what is expected in practice.

What to expect
This one-hour session will begin with an overview of:

• How to access PVG checks
• How to receive and understand PVG results
• Who requires to be checked under the current legislation
• Who can view disclosure information
• Whether a PVG check with one organisation covers volunteering across multiple groups

This will be followed by an open Q&A session, where you can ask any questions relating to PVG or the disclosure process.

• Staff responsible for recruitment or safeguarding
• Volunteers who want to better understand PVG requirements

Why attend?
Disclosure Scotland updated its guidance in December 2025, with a further update in May 2026. These sessions will help ensure you are working in line with the most up-to-date guidance and understand your responsibilities.
